designer/maker of jewellery and small silver items

A mechanical engineer by training, I spent my professional career managing the construction of metallurgical facilities around the world, but this involvement never gave the same hands-on satisfaction that transforming silver sheet and wire into elegant jewellery and small silver items does.

With no formal training, my skills have been accumulated in many evening sessions at Hart's workshop in Chipping Campden, from two years at Birmingham School of Jewellery on a part-time basis, and in masterclasses with world-acclaimed experts at Birmingham School of Jewellery, Haystack Mountain School of Art, Maine, and Westdene College. And, of course, by trial and (sometimes expensive) error !!

I have a particular interest in hand-made chain, an essential element in jewellery for thousands of years, and in anticlastic forming, a challenging technique used to make pieces that mirror the sinuous forms found in nature and which can be dramatically different from jewellery produced using more traditional techniques.

My work is all individually hand-crafted either as one-off pieces or in very small editions.
